Tata Motors to Hike Car, SUV Prices by Up to Rs 25,000 From September 1

This increase will affect both internal combustion engine and electric models, aiming to offset ongoing financial pressures. Additionally, the company has resumed operations at its Sanand plant in Gujarat, which faced production disruptions due to flooding.

Tata Motors to Hike Car, SUV Prices by Up to Rs 25,000 From September 1

Tata Motors is set to increase prices of its cars and SUVs in India from September 1, 2026. The company will raise prices by up to Rs 25,000, with the exact increase varying depending on the model and variant.
Key Highlights:
  • Tata Motors will hike prices of its passenger vehicles by up to Rs 25,000 from September 1, 2026.
  • The price increase will apply to both ICE and electric models.
  • The company cited rising input costs and continued inflationary pressures for the hike.
  • Tata Motors has also resumed production at its flood-hit Sanand plant in Gujarat.
The price hike comes at a time when the Indian passenger vehicle market is witnessing softer demand. Tata Motors said the revision is aimed at partially offsetting higher input costs and sustained inflationary pressures.
The upcoming price increase will cover Tata Motors' entire passenger vehicle range, including models powered by internal combustion engines (ICE) as well as electric vehicles (EVs).
The automaker said it continues to absorb a significant portion of the increase in costs but will pass on part of the impact to customers through the latest price revision.
Tata Motors has not yet announced the model-wise price increase. More details are expected closer to the implementation date.

Sanand Plant Operations Resume After Flooding

In a separate development, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has restored operations at its Sanand manufacturing facility in Gujarat after flooding disrupted production.
The company said operations at the plant, along with those of suppliers supporting the facility, have now been restored. Production of the Tiago, Tigor, Nexon and Sierra was affected by the flooding.
Tata Motors estimates the damage caused by the incident at around Rs 35 crore to Rs 40 crore. The company said the insurance claim related to the damage is expected to be non-material.
The automaker added that necessary measures were taken to restore normal operations after the flood water receded. It also said the disruption had no material impact on its overall operations or financial performance.
