Volkswagen Taigun Facelift: Design

The Taigun continues to be based on the MQB A0 IN platform which also underpins the Skoda Kushaq facelift. With Skoda Kushaq already getting a facelift, the Taigun facelift follows as the next step under the group’s India 2.0 strategy. The Taigun facelift gets revised styling at the front with new headlamps, a new grille with connected LED DRLs and an updated bumper and front parking sensors. The GT version of the Taigun facelift sports red badging on the front grille and front passenger door. Compared to the outgoing model’s boxier styling, the facelift introduces a smoother front-end design with sharper detailing.

Taking into account the Skoda Kushaq facelift, we anticipate the Volkswagen Taigun facelift to retain its engine options - 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI. However the 1.0L TSI turbo petrol engine can get a new 8-speed automatic gearbox which can replace the 6-speed AT. The 1.5L TSI turbo petrol engine is expected to continue with the existing 7-speed DSG.
