Volvo Car India Announces Price Hike of up to Rs 1 Lakh, Effective From May 2026

The Indian passenger vehicle division of the Swedish automaker Volvo has announced a price hike for the domestic market. Sharing this update the automaker stated that it will increase the prices of its entire product range. This price hike is scheduled to come into effect from May 1st 2026.
Volvo isn’t the first luxury automaker in India to announce a price hike this fiscal year. Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW have already implemented a price hike and with this announcement Volvo joins the list. Like other manufacturers Volvo has cited foreign exchange fluctuations and supply chain disruption as the reason behind this scheduled price hike.
Volvo Car India has stated, “Effective 1 May 2026, Volvo Car India will recalibrate prices across its portfolio by up to Rupees One Lakh (INR.1,00,000). Persistent global supply-chain disruptions and foreign exchange fluctuations have necessitated this marginal adjustment. This step is essential to maintaining the uncompromising safety and luxury standards our customers expect. Should this global geo-political /economic climate continue, further price readjustments may have to be done soon.”
Volvo’s product lineup in India currently includes models like XC60, XC90, EX30, EX40 and EC40. At present the most affordable Volvo car in the Indian market is the EX30 with an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 41 lakh. On the other hand the most expensive Volvo model in India is the XC90 with a starting ex-showroom price tag of Rs 97.80 lakh. Volvo is very well recognized globally for pioneering car safety. Its SUVs like the XC60 and XC90 are considered among the safest cars in the world.
