Kawasaki Z300 Launched in India: Price, Engine, Power, Features and More

Kawasaki has introduced the Z300 in India, positioning it as an entry-level naked motorcycle. Sharing its powertrain with the Ninja 300, the bike is priced at Rs 3.24 lakh (ex-showroom).

Kawasaki has officially launched the Z300 in the Indian market, expanding its naked motorcycle lineup with a model that draws significant inspiration from the larger Z900. Priced at Rs 3.24 lakh (ex-showroom), the motorcycle serves as a new entry point into the brand's Z series, arriving with a design language that emphasizes aggressive, street-focused aesthetics.
The introduction of the Z300 follows a period of anticipation, with the motorcycle sharing its core architecture with the well-established Ninja 300. Despite the shared platform, the Z300 distinguishes itself through its stripped-back naked styling, most notably featuring triple-pod LED headlights that mirror the design cues found on the larger Z900. While some market expectations suggested a lower price point due to the extensive parts sharing between the two models, the Z300 sits just Rs 10,000 below the Ninja 300, which is currently priced at Rs 3.34 lakh (ex-showroom).

Kawasaki Z300: Powertrain, Performance & Features

At the heart of the Z300 is the same 296cc parallel-twin engine found in the Ninja 300. This liquid-cooled unit is known for its high-revving characteristics, producing 39.4 bhp at 11,000 RPM and 26.3 Nm of torque at 10,000 RPM. The engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission, maintaining the same mechanical configuration as its faired sibling. This powertrain setup allows the Z300 to offer a twin-cylinder experience in a segment where many competitors utilize single-cylinder engines.
The motorcycle is built on the same platform as the Ninja 300, utilizing telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock setup to handle suspension duties. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, with braking handled by a single disc setup at both the front and rear. For safety, Kawasaki has included dual-channel ABS as a standard feature across the model range. In terms of equipment, the Z300 replaces the semi-analogue instrument cluster of the Ninja 300 with a fully digital LCD display, providing a more contemporary look for the rider.

Kawasaki Z300: Market Positioning & Rivals

The Z300 enters a competitive segment of the Indian motorcycle market, facing off against established rivals such as the KTM 390 Duke and the TVS Apache RTR 310. While it competes with these single-cylinder offerings, its primary point of differentiation remains the parallel-twin engine, which it shares with the Aprilia Tuono 457 in terms of cylinder count. The motorcycle is available in two distinct color schemes: Green and Black.
Although the pricing has been confirmed, the Z300 is currently in the initial stages of its market rollout. Prospective buyers can look forward to further details regarding dealership availability and delivery timelines as the company integrates the new model into its national retail network.
