Mahindra Announces Price Hike of up to 2.5 Percent for ICE Vehicles, Effective From April 6
The passenger vehicle division of the Indian automaker Mahindra has announced a new price hike for its entire internal combustion engine (ICE) portfolio this month. Sharing this update the automaker stated that it will be increasing the prices of its entire product lineup in India by up to 2.5 percent from April 6th 2026.
Mahindra has safeguarded the interest of the first 40,000 buyers for the XUV7XO, which will be safe from this price hike. However, following the completion of 40,000 deliveries this price hike will come into effect for the XUV7XO as well.
Mahindra has cited “a combination of cost escalations” as the reason behind this upcoming price hike. Mahindra isn’t the first automaker to state rising cost as the reason for increasing prices of their products. Automakers in India like Audi, Mercedes-Benz, MG Motor, Tata Motors have also implemented price hikes this month for similar reasons. Even the likes of Maruti Suzuki has expressed concerns over rising input costs. Maruti Suzuki also stated that it has been absorbing the price hike till now but is considering passing on the impact to the customers; so we are anticipating that the prices of their cars will witness a price hike in India soon.
Rising demands for SUVs and market trends have bumped up Mahindra significantly in the sales charts in the last 5 to 6 years. Mahindra on the other hand has turned a new leaf with international level products which are gathering global appreciation from critics and masses alike. In the Indian context the recent rise of Mahindra should be a case study in itself. To present a clearer picture, last month Mahindra sold over sixty thousand SUVs in the domestic market.
