Skoda is set to expand its performance portfolio in India with the launch of the Kodiaq RS. Skoda is expected to launch the Kodiaq RS in the country next month. The Kodiaq RS will become the first SUV from Skoda to wear the RS badge in the country. Unlike the locally assembled standard Kodiaq, the performance-focused version will arrive in India as a completely built-up unit (CBU).
The SUV has already generated strong interest in the market, Skoda initially allocated only 50 units of the Kodiaq RS for India, and the entire batch was booked within minutes of bookings opening. While Skoda has not confirmed whether a second allocation will be made available, the strong booking response could encourage the company to bring additional units to India. More details regarding the same can surface at the time of the launch.

Skoda Kodiaq RS: Powertrain & Performance
Powering the Kodiaq RS is a 2.0L four-cylinder TSI turbo-petrol engine that develops 261bhp and 400Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG and also gets an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. Compared to the standard Kodiaq sold in India, the RS version produces an additional 60bhp and 80Nm. Skoda claims the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.3 seconds and has a top speed of 231kmph. The SUV also receives performance-focused upgrades, including larger brake discs, dual-piston front brake calipers and suspension tuning aimed at delivering sharper handling.
Skoda Kodiaq RS: Design
The Kodiaq RS retains the overall design of the latest iteration of the Kodiaq which was recently launched in India. The Kodiaq RS gets several cosmetic changes that set it apart from the regular model. The SUV features redesigned front and rear bumpers, gloss black exterior accents, RS badging, larger 20-inch alloy wheels, red brake calipers and a dual exhaust setup. These updates give the flagship SUV a sportier appearance without altering its overall proportions.
On the inside, the Kodiaq RS adopts an all-black interior theme with red contrast stitching and RS-specific inserts. The front seats are sport seats with integrated headrests and RS branding, while the SUV continues to offer a 5+2 seating layout.
Skoda Kodiaq RS: Features
In terms of features the Kodiaq RS gets a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10-inch digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, wireless smartphone connectivity, connected car technology and a comprehensive suite of safety features.
Skoda Kodiaq RS: Expected Price
Since the Kodiaq RS will be imported as a CBU, it is expected to command a premium over the standard model. Industry estimates suggest an expected price of around Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom). For reference, the standard Skoda Kodiaq is currently priced from Rs 36.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
