Upcoming KTM 1390 Super Duke RR: Specs and Details Revealed Ahead of Launch

The KTM 1390 Super Duke RR is set to be the brand's next exclusive model, inspired by the previous 1290 Super Duke RR. This version will be lighter and more performance-focused, maintaining the same 1,350cc V-twin engine specifications as its predecessor. Weight-saving measures will include a titanium exhaust and carbon-fibre components, reducing the overall weight to approximately 204kg. Additional features may include upgraded suspension and full electronics from the 1390 Super Duke R. A launch in 2026 is anticipated, with pricing in India between 25 to 26 lakh.

The upcoming 1390 Super Duke RR, is KTM’s next limited-run flagship model and it is beginning to take shape through European type-approval documents. The filings confirm that KTM is following the same template used for the earlier 1290 Super Duke RR, which was produced in restricted batches of 500 units. The new RR is positioned as a lighter, more focused version of the existing 1390 Super Duke R, with no increase in power or torque.
The powertrain figures remain the same and it will get the 1,350cc V-twin engine producing 190hp and 145Nm of torque. There are no mechanical revisions to the engine or gearbox. KTM’s changes instead centre around weight-saving components and chassis updates.
Multiple filings and supplier references indicate that the RR will weigh around 204kg fully fuelled, a reduction of roughly 8.5kg from the standard model’s 212.5kg kerb weight.
KTM achieves this through the Akrapovic titanium exhaust, Carbon-fibre parts, and Lithium-ion battery.
Multiple media reports suggest a shift to a twin-outlet titanium muffler, similar to what is already available in the PowerParts catalogue.
A clear change mentioned in approvals is a 17mm wider handlebar, likely added to accommodate lever guards, something KTM has previously used on the 1290 Super Duke RR.
Other hardware upgrades expected, though not officially confirmed, include - WP Apex Pro suspension components (fork and monoshock), Carryover Brembo braking system, Standard LED lighting and adjustable controls. These upgrades follow the established RR format from KTM’s earlier models.
The RR is likely to carry over the full electronics suite of the 1390 Super Duke R, which includes - five riding modes: Street, Sport, Rain, Performance, Track. It also gets traction control, anti-wheelie system, 5-inch TFT display with lap timer, telemetry, smartphone connectivity features, cruise control and USB charging
Reports suggest that KTM initially planned an EICMA 2025 debut, but internal financial setbacks delayed the programme. With Bajaj Auto now acquiring KTM, the product roadmap may stabilise, raising the likelihood of a 2026 launch window.
The RR is expected to be a limited-unit offering, similar to the earlier 1290 RR. Given the RR’s lighter components and premium hardware, it will sit higher than the 1390 Super Duke R. The 1390 Super Duke RR is expected to be introduced in India next year in an ex-showroom price range of 25 to 26 lakh.
