She also confirmed that Hero has a pipeline of upcoming electric products, stating that “we also will have a robust pipeline of products coming in,” which will support future growth of the Vida electric portfolio.
Current EV Performance and Market Share
The company recorded its highest-ever quarterly EV market share of 11.7%, driven mainly by the Vida VX2 electric scooter. Hero now holds over 20% EV market share in 48 towns and ranks among the top two players in 56 towns.
According to Nandakumar, the new VX2 has gained traction in “core markets” and is a major contributor to the EV portfolio’s growth. She said customer interest has also increased due to Hero’s Battery-as-a-Service offering.
Future Products and Development Direction
While the company has not disclosed model names, segment classes or launch timelines, executive comments underline that several products are already under development:
- Hero MotoCorp is “continuing to invest in brand and build the electric vehicle portfolio” as part of its long-term strategy.
- The EV business will “leverage PLI benefits” and ongoing cost optimisation to support product expansion.
- The company expects rising volumes to support a clearer profitability path once additional EV models enter the market.
Together, the remarks indicate a confirmed multi-product EV roadmap for the coming years.
What the Company Said About Market Expansion
Executives said the EV business is now scaling geographically. Hero is number one or number two in more than 50 cities, including key urban EV markets such as Delhi and Mumbai.
The company added that electric scooters accounted for around a quarter of total scooter volumes in the overall Indian market during the last quarter, and Hero expects this share to grow.
